Building an EdTech Platform from Zero to Full Product Launch
Summary
Gradesloom is an EdTech startup that set out to modernise professional certification in creative industries. With a strong curriculum but no digital infrastructure, they approached Palsoro to build everything from scratch — brand, website, and a full Learning Management System capable of delivering video-based courses, tracking progress, and issuing verified certificates at scale.
"We came in with a concept and Palsoro delivered a fully functioning product in six weeks. The LMS they built is better than platforms we'd considered licensing."
The situation
A curriculum without a platform to deliver it
Gradesloom had invested months developing high-quality course content but had no way to deliver it online. Off-the-shelf LMS platforms were either too generic, too expensive, or lacked the customisation needed for their branded learner experience. They needed a co-build partner who could design a compelling brand, build a marketing site, and deliver a production-grade LMS — on a startup timeline and budget.
The solution
A fully custom LMS built for scale from day one
Palsoro designed the Gradesloom brand identity, built a conversion-optimised marketing website, and developed a custom LMS with video hosting, progress tracking, assessments, and automated certificate generation. The platform was built on a modular architecture so new course types and content formats could be added without re-engineering. We implemented an instructor dashboard for content uploads and a learner dashboard with streak tracking to drive engagement and completion.
The result
Launched with 5,000 learners. 92% completion rate.
Gradesloom launched six weeks after kick-off, with a live LMS, published courses, and a branded experience that compared favourably against established platforms. The platform reached 5,000 active learners within three months of launch. Course completion rates averaged 92% — significantly above industry benchmarks — attributed to the engagement mechanics built into the learner dashboard.
